What is Artificial General Intelligence? Knowing an AI thats equal to a human.

We all know what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is. Still, the interesting question is whether artificial intelligence is the equivalent of human intelligence, an AI that can be learned by itself, or what we call artificial general intelligence (AGI) will affect humans in the future.

What is Artificial General Intelligence?

Compared to living creatures, AI has an advantage over the larvae between growth and development. At the AGI stage, it's like a teenage age that can learn to think, analyze things, and apply them to create or solve problems on their own. Even though it sounds like a lot of screenshots, we can't tell how far this technology is going. And if AGI happened, it might have the ability to do this.

  1. There's a cognitive touch nerve. (Sensory perception)
  2. They can move. (Fine motor skills)
  3. Has a natural understanding of language and processing. (Natural language processing and understanding)
  4. Have the ability to navigate. (Navigation)
  5. Has troubleshooting capabilities. (Problem-solving)
  6. Emotion and social skills. (Social and emotional engagement)
  7. Creativity. (Creativity)

Or if an AI at the AGI level happens, that means that a machine with an AGI technology will be able to understand the world just like humans are, and can learn things around it to build a problem-solving skill on its own without limitations. Of course, if AI can evolve equally as a real human being, there is a chance that AI will become a threat to humanity.

The research challenge.

  • Connecting

Current AI models are limited to domain-specific ones. They can't be connected between domains, but humans are still able to transfer knowledge from one domain to another.

  • Emotional intelligence.

The DePlaning model points to possibilities but does not show creativity that requires emotional thinking.

  • Neuro-touch perception.

AGI needs an AI system to move and interact with the environment. In addition to the capabilities of robots, they have to perceive the world as well as humans. The technology has to be able to distinguish shapes, colors, tastes, smells, and sounds precisely from humans

So, how close or how far away is AGI's future?

There are still many arguments about the possibility and impossibility of an upward AGI, and it is still difficult to say whether the upcoming AGI would be beneficial or damaging to humankind.

In terms of AI researchers, it's the same picture that AGI still seems to be something that goes far beyond reality. AGI is still living with progress, funding, and many other theories in development, but not that it is something that shouldn't be taken care of at all.

On the contrary, there is also another side to see AGI happening in the next few years, Bill Gates has come out, suggesting that in the coming 5 years, AI will affect every human being. Even more so, if we had the hands of technology leaders like Google OpenAI and Microsoft, we might have seen AGI complete faster than expected.
