Why should you add a Facebook Like Box to your WordPress website?
Facebook Like Box allows visitors to "like" your page without leaving the website, increasing engagement and brand credibility.
We have 2 simple ways to add a Facebook Like Box on WordPress:
- Use the plugin (suitable for beginners)
- Use embedded code (for those who want more control).

Method 1: Use the Facebook Like Box plugin (recommended for beginners)
We will use the Smash Balloon Social Post Feed plugin.
Installation steps
- Go to the WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New
- Search for Smash Balloon Social Post Feed > Install and activate
- Go to Facebook Feed > All Feeds > Click "Add New"
- Select "Timeline" and click "Next"
- Connect Facebook account > Select your page
Set up the Facebook Like Box
- Open Feed Layout and set "Number of Posts" to 0 (to display only the Like Box).
- Hide the header display of the feed
- Customize the size and Call-to-Action button as needed.
- Press "Save" to save.
Embed the Like Box on the page or widget.
- Go to "Embed" > "Add to a Page" and select your page.
- Use the Facebook Feed Block in the Gutenberg Editor
- Or go to "Add to a Widget" to add the Like Box in the Sidebar or Footer.
Method 2: Use the embedded Facebook Like Box code
If you want to add a Like Box without using a plugin, use the Facebook Page Plugin.
The process of adding code
- Go to the Facebook Developers Page Plugin
- Enter the Facebook page URL and set the display options.
- Click "Get Code" and select the JavaScript SDK tab.
- Copy the Step 2 code and insert it into WordPress using the WPCode plugin.
- Place the code in WPCode and select Auto Insert > Site Wide Body.
- Copy the Step 3 code and add it to WPCode by selecting Auto Insert > Site Wide Footer.
- Press "Save Snippet" to save.
